Belgium, a country in the northwest of Europe on the North Sea. In ancient times Belgium was inhabited by the Belgae, the region was part of the Carolingian and Roman empires before breaking up into a number of feudal states during the middle Ages. The region occupied by present-day Belgium passed to the Hapsburgs in the 15th century and then to the French in the 18th century. After the defeat of Napoleon in 1815, Belgium was given to the kingdom of the Netherlands, from which it gained independence as a separate kingdom in 1830. Brussels is the capital and the largest city of Belgium.
Belgium was an important chapter in the World War I. After the sudden occurence of World War I (Aug., 1914), Belgium was invaded by Germany in order to attack the French by the easiest route, this unashamed violation of Belgian neutrality shocked much parts of the world and brought Great Britain into the war, as one of Belgium’s guarantors. The unexpected resistance of the Belgians against such heavy odds won widespread admiration, and German atrocities in Belgium, publicized by the Allies, played an important part in strenghtening U.S. opinion against Germany. All of Belgium except a small strip in West Flanders, which served as a battle front throughout the war (Ieper or Ypres), was conquered by Oct. 10, 1914, and the people suffered under a harsh occupation system. The Belgian army fought in West Flanders and France throughout the war under the leadership of Albert I.
Ypres or Ieper, a Belgian municipality located in the Flemish province of West Flanders. During World War I, Ieper was the centre of serious and sustained battles between the German and the Allied forces. During the war, English soldiers nicknamed the city "Wipers."
The Allied forces captured Ieper from the Germans in the First Battle of Ypres (31 October to 22 November 1914). In the Second Battle of Ypres (22 April to 25 May 1915) the German force used poison gas for the first time on the Western Front and seized high ground east of Ieper. The first gas attack occurred against British, Canadian and French soldiers, including both metropolitan French soldiers as well as Senegalese and Algerian tirailleurs (light infantry) from French Africa. Of the battles in the World War I, the largest, most-known, and most costly in human suffering was the Third Battle of Ypres (21 July to 6 November 1917, also known as the Battle of Passchendaele) in which the British, Canadians, ANZAC and French forces recaptured the Passchendaele ridge east of the city at a terrible cost of lives. After several months of fighting, the battle resulted in nearly half a million casualties to all sides, and only several miles of ground won by Allied forces. Ieper was all but destroyed by the artillery fire.
Many landmarks and memorials of the World War I and museums are worth visiting in Ieper.
1. Menin Gate Memorial – Memorial dedicated on 24 July 1927 to the missing British and Commonwealth soldiers who fell in Belgium during World War I. It has a Last Post Ceremony each night at 8:00 PM as a way for the Ypres citizens to express their gratitude towards those who died for Belgium’s freedom.
2. Flanders Fields Museum – It is located right in the center of the Ypres Cloth Hall. This museum gives an excellent overview of World War I. It is a sort of an experience that takes you right into the daily life during the war.
3. Memorial Museum Passchendaele – A Museum in a beautiful setting, conveying the story of the Great War in chronological order. It has lots of information on the different battles and a large selection of authentic artifacts on display.

Gurgaon is the latest destination for most of the tourists coming to North India, especially to Delhi, on business. This is because a lot of international companies have started their operations in Gurgaon. There are a number of other options like guest houses, bed and breakfast homes and even private houses. The key is to find the right place to stay in Gurgaon. Here is a guide to help you out.
The first thing that you have to consider while finding the right place to stay in Gurgaon is where is it located. Gurgaon is not too small; in fact it is spread across a really wide area of land. Does Twitter Have a Good ROI for New York hotel marketing? (And what would that mean, anyway?)
In prior times, I have made the audacious claim that Twitter has a poor ROI in terms of marketing. Lately I have been arguing that we should reconceptualize “ROI” for social media, perhaps renaming the acronym “Return on Information” or “Return on Influence.” Such skepticism of Twitter reflects current debate among our marketing team as we struggle to understand relative strengths and weaknesses of social media with respect to hotel marketing.
Internet Marketing for New York Hotels
Marketing for is a tricky business. This is due in part because of the sheer level of competition in Manhattan and the Greater NY area. It can be a daunting task to brand a hotel in this city and to offer affordable, yet competitive rates for guests. In addition, getting search engine visibility here in New York is extremely difficult without serious dollars and a powerhouse PR or advertising firm. It’s just the nature of the region; New York is a world city, a friend of mine says. and New York hotels have to adapt to this in many ways that are unnecessary in other regions.
But Twitter may yet have the potential to help level the playing field. Recent trends of our hotel Twitter feed I manage have caused me to recant on my earlier claim that social media delivers poor ROI.
Creating Buzz with Twitter
Yesterday, several things came together for me in a weird sort of serendipity. A New York hotel I work for is about to publish a new holiday product, and I started a conversation about the product on his Twitter feed. Immediately I got several responses from enthusiastic, interested followers. “Sounds awesome!”, “How can I get in on that!”, and “You’re on a roll today!” were just a few of the responses.
So, in an almost Taoist go-with-the-flow sort of way, carried away by the energy of the moment, I put together a quick, online marketing promotion. It was roughshod, spur of the moment, not planned or thought out – more of an experiment than anything. I told our followers that if they download , they would be the first to know about the special – via their desktop. (The toolbar has a Java API that enables me to send a desktop alert.)
“The next group to receive the news will be our Facebook fans,” I continued “So, if you miss the toolbar update, you might wanna go ahead and start following us on Facebook because this will be the next round of updates.”
The third group to be updated would be our Twitter followers, I explained. “After that, it’ll be open to the general public and it’s anybody’s game.”
Twitter and CRM
All this promoting (marketing?) happened before I sent the deal out to our email subscriber list.
Interestingly enough, the “buzz” of this not-planned out, spur of the moment, “promotion” was pretty good. Engagement and response levels increased. New Twitterers came to follow the hotel, to get in on the action. There was a dense air of expectancy that caused me to pause, seriously, to think about what had just happened.
And all this occurred in the timespan of 10 minutes, at the most! Could Twitter become the next industry standard Customer Relationship Management application?
The Takeaway
A colleague of mine who is a PR manager is sold on Twitter marketing. She believes that Twitter will become the next big search engine and will revolutionize news production. She has been researching everything Twitter and is composing a position paper on the subject, the first draft of which I have reviewed. Her thesis is that Twitter mastery will be the next big thing in SEO best practices. I, on the other hand, am not yet sold on this.
But yesterday’s exchange has caused me to step back from previous positions I’ve held. It is obvious that there is tremendous opportunity to use Twitter for hotel marketing. In a span of literally minutes we generated some decent ”buzz” and garnered a few new followers on our Twitter and Facebook profile and business pages.
The takeaway here is that there is a return on investment here; it is undeniable. I think a lot of the hype we hear out there surrounding social media marketing sometimes serves to cloud the issue and create skeptics. Precisely quantifying that ROI may be impossible, but you can “feel” that it is there and that it is valuable, in a marketing sense. Intuitively, one can sense that a step forward for marketing and customer relations management took place.
And perhaps we’ve finally figured out how to “put it all together” with social media? I’m not sure, but I think we’re getting closer. At any rate, I think now I am compelled to rescind my former comments on the poor ROI of social media!

Noosa region is one of the most popular travel destinations in Australia. Enjoying the Cooloola Safari is among one of the really cool things to experience while you are in the Sunshine Coast area. It consists of a guided tour of Sandy National Park located in the Noosa region, in an escort vehicle. However, you can get out of the vehicle and explore the nature during your forty-mile adventure on beaches and wilderness. It is a lovely experience to enjoy holidays in Noosa, but finding a suitable holiday accommodation is not an easy task.
Poor holiday accommodations can take out the fun and can ruin a vacation. If you go for a costly accommodation, then you are left with less money to spend on activities. If you go for a low cost accommodation, you may find yourself in a situation where you might not be able to get a good night’s sleep. Hence, your choice of holiday accommodations should be carefully considered while keeping certain things in mind, such as, the person you are traveling with, the time you are going to spend in your lodging, and of course, your budget.
If you have a low budget, you can get a hostel or cheap hotel. You should keep in mind that you always get what you pay for. While staying in a hostel, you may have to share your room with strangers. And, if you are traveling with a lot of valuables and your children, it is certainly not a good option.
If you have a high budget, you can take part in a lot of fun-filled activities, and you can go for a high quality resort hotel. These hotels offer multiple facilities like swimming pools, day care facilities and camps for kids. In these hotels, you can expect a better entertainment while staying within the hotel. The rooms are clean and offer a nice view. You would always love to stay at one of these hotels as they offer a great deal of satisfaction while making your vacations memorable.
Now leave all these related worries onto us. Take a Break, a leading travel and tours online portal, helps you find great deals on , so you can only enjoy without worrying about anything.

Sihanoukville in Cambodia is full of low cost budget hotel rooms when compared to many other places around the world. If you want just a simple guest room with a fan then these are available from around seven USD. However Sihanoukville can get very hot and sticky especially just before and after the rainy season and the fans struggle to keep you cool at night. Most of these very low budget rooms measure about nine square meters and normally have a small toilet and a cold shower. Some guest houses will also have cable TV as well included in the price.
Although Sihanoukville is a reasonably safe place to stay there are many instances of theft through fishing. Typically a long cane or stick has a very sticky resin at the end and the thief will put the stick through the window and ‘fish’ for say a wallet or handbag or even money if it is left out. So always be sure to put your important belongings somewhere they can’t be ‘fished for’.
In the better hotels there is generally security so this is not so much of a problem. Also all rooms have air conditioning with the rooms slightly bigger, better furnished and equipped. You can expect to pay between twenty five to sixty USD per night for a hotel room like this and for the upper price you should expect a swimming pool and a good bar and restaurant.
Sihanoukville is one of the fastest growing cities in Cambodia with much attention now being given to improving tourist facilities.
